There are many ironies in the appointment of carbon as the epitome of original sin. The modern environmentalist, having made the foolish, empty gesture of turning his back on the atom that is his primal progenitor and the essence of his being, has admitted a Trojan horse that is being used to attack basic human liberties gained by centuries of struggle.
Carbon-based, carbon-dioxide-exhaling environmentalists and politicians invent carbon taxes, carbon trading and carbon rationing; quite meaningless paper transactions that only serve to manacle the masses and (naturally) enrich those individuals with an eye to the main chance. People submit to repression and restraints of liberty that would have seemed inconceivable twenty years ago, purely because they come wrapped up in a cloak of environmental conviction. They are subjected to absurd rituals without the right to dissent. They are denied access to the knowledge that could unshackle them.
Above it all towers the figure of Al Gore and environmental organizations such as Greenpeace and the Friends of the Earth (FOE), hyper-hypocrites and monsters of monetary concupiscence.
If just occasionally Gore turns up on a bike rather than his private jet (or waived the six figure fee for his repetitious diatribes, or engaged in debate rather than diktat) he might entertain some credibility among the reasoning few. It is, however, in the nature of the faithful that they turn a blind eye to the defects of their demagogues. Perhaps the one fact that restores one's faith in humanity is that the blanket coverage of the propaganda has failed to stir a majority of the populace, though in the new age majorities have no power.
It is into this world of environmental propaganda that palm oil is thrust – a third world commodity that has become a convenient passive dart-board for Greenpeace’s and FOE’s naked ambition and evil ideology driven missiles of hate!
So frenetic and hysterical have the attacks of Greenpeace and FOE been that they have laid bare their souls with the frenzied nature of their attacks, with both paying scant respect and attention to facts!
FOE, for one issued a “report” in October 2008 called “Malaysian Palm Oil: Green Gold or Green Wash?” a report so flawed and bereft of factual accuracy that it could have qualified for Bumpft of the Year! In this “report” FOE alleged that “the Malaysian State of Sarawak is developing “large-scale plantations at breath-taking speed having overexploited its timber resources and depleted its forests.” The “report” contends that oil palm plantations are being expanded at the expense of tropical forests.
The trouble with this “report” is that the agriculture to forest land ratio in Sarawak currently stands at 8:76. In other words, agricultural land in Sarawak is currently only 8%. How could it even be remotely possible for Sarawak to be expanding palm oil plantations “at the expense of tropical forests?”
Not to be outdone, Greenpeace recently got into the report publishing business. With the recklessness and rashness that is now synonymous with the name Greenpeace, they even attacked the first RSPO (i) certified sustainable palm oil shipment by United Plantations (UP). Alleging that the shipment did not meet the RSPO’s standards, Greenpeace attempted, in their usual amateurish and inexpert fashion to cast aspersions on the sustainable practices of UP. In a detailed response, UP exposed in a calm and proficient manner, the fallacy and inaccuracy of Greenpeace’s allegations, which is not exactly a difficult task considering Greenpeace’s predilection for falsehoods and equivocations. (ii)
For instance, Greenpeace’s alleged that UP had violated Principle 7 Criterion 7.3 of the RSPO, since no High Conservation Value (HCV) assessment was carried out for United Plantations on PT SSS1, a parcel of land in Indonesia acquired by UP. UP pointed out that contrary to Greenpeace’s allegation, a HCV assessment was indeed completed for the Runtu property of PT SSS1 on 21st January 2008 subsequent to the main assessment announcement posted on the RSPO web site in January 2008. In their response, UP observed dryly that “had Greenpeace consulted United Plantations prior to making the report, we would have gladly made available the Comprehensive HCV report prepared by the relevant Indonesian experts.”
In the view of the Palm Oil Truth Foundation, it is environmental recklessness and skullduggery such as these by environmental organizations such as Greenpeace and FOE that will eventually sound the death knell of the environmental movement as a whole! THE END.

Wasn't it Ronald Reagan who said 'It isn't that liberals are ignorant, it's just that they know so much that ain't so'? How absolutely spot on he has been, when we consider the crap that comes out of FoE and Greenpeace! Posted by Pan American, on January 2, 2009 at 9:48
Truth is a hard row to hoe for both FoE and Greenpeace. Skullduggery? Probably more than that from this bunch of cheap ass congenital liars! Posted by J. Spencer, on December 29, 2008 at 22:23
Those birdbrained jackasses at FOE and Greenpeace should go chase their own tails...round and round and round....that'll probably be more productive than the anti-palm oil scams they're runnin. They fool no one! Posted by Spud, on December 26, 2008 at 17:23
